WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT ?

The Following Study Article Is Composed From Preliminary Study Notes As I Progressively Step Through A Biblical Word Study On “The Cornerstone”. All References Are To The KJV.

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Word (see 1 John 5:7 ) ; He is one in union with three that bear record in heaven (see 1 John 5:7 ); He is the power of the Highest ( see Luke 1:35) ; He is the Holy Ghost (see Luke 4:1, John 1:32 Acts 2:4 ) ; He is the Holy Spirit of God ( see Eph 4:30 ) ; He is the Spirit of The Lord (see Luke 4:1, Is 63 14) ; He is the Spirit of Truth ( see John 14:17, John 15:26, John 16:13)  ;  He is with whom God anointed Jesus of Nazareth ( see Acts 10:38); He is the Spirit that John the Baptist saw descending from heaven and aboding and remaining on Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world ( see John 1:32,33 ) ; He is the Holy Spirit of promise that we are sealed with after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation , and then believing and trusting in Christ ( see Eph 1:13) .

The Holy Spirit is sent from the Father by Jesus and He proceeds from the Father ( see John 15:26)  He is sent down from heaven and given by God our heavenly Father to those of us who ask Him ( see 1 Peter 1:12,  1Th 4:8 , Luke 11:13) ; He is the gift received after repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ( see Acts 2:38) ; He is whom God has given to those that obey him ( see Acts 5:32 ) ;He is whom they that believe on Jesus receive ( see John 7:39, Acts 8:17) .

The Holy Spirit is the only One by whom that we can say that Jesus is the Lord ( see 1 Co 12:3 ) ; He is of whom we are baptized with by Jesus ( see John 1:33, Acts 11:36 ) ; He is the One who testifies of Jesus ( see John 15:26 ) ; He is in whom we receive the washing of regeneration and renewal ( see Ti 3:5) ; He is through whom we receive and partake of spiritual enlightenment ( see Heb 6:4 ); He is whereby we are sealed unto the day of redemption ( see Eph 4:30 ) ; He is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession ( see Eph 1:14 ) ; He is through whom we are sanctified ( see Rom 15:16) ; He is a witness to us who are sanctified that by one offering Jesus Christ has perfected us forever ( see Heb 10:14,15) ; He is God’s free Spirit that upholds us (see Ps 51:11) .

The Holy Spirit is whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees Him or knows Him ( see John 14:17) ;  He is is whom the disciples of Jesus know, because He dwells with them and He is in them ( see John 14:17) .

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence together with us ( see Ps 51:11) ; He is by whom we have communion with God ( see 2 Co 13:14 ) ; He dwells in the body of the believer ( see 1 Co 6:19, 2 Tim 1:14 ) ; He is the rivers of living water that flow out of the belly of every believer in Jesus ( see John 7:38 ); He is the joy of our salvation ( see Ps 51:12 ) ; He is by whom the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts ( see Rom 5:5 ) ; He is through whom we can be filled with all joy and peace in believing and abound in hope ( see Rom 15:13) ; He is in whom we experience the righteousness , peace and joy of the kingdom of God ( see Rom 14:17 ).

The Holy Spirit is a spiritual teacher ( see 1 Cor 2:13 ) ; He is who guides the disciples of Jesus into all truth (see John 16:13 ) ; He is the One who does not speak of Himself , but He speaks only whatsoever He hears from the Father and his Son Jesus ( see John 16: 13,14,15) He is of whom we receive spiritual gifts ( see Heb 2:4 ) ; He is the mover of the men of God have spoken prophetically in ancient times ( see 2 Peter 1:21) ;

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter whom the Father sends in the name of Jesus ( see John 14:26) .

“Holy”- from the Old Testament Hebrew

“Qôdesh”, a sacred place or thing; rarely abstract, sanctity:—consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, (× most) holy (× day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary.

“Holy ” – from the New Testament Greek

“Hágios”; sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated):—(most) holy (one, thing), saint.

“Spirit”- from the Old Testament Hebrew
