WHAT IS JOY ?

The Following Study Article Is Composed From Preliminary Legal Study Based Notes As I Progressively Step Through A Key Word Study On “The Cornerstone”.  All References Are To The KJV.

Joy is in the God of our salvation See Hab 3:18;  joy is in rejoicing in the God of our salvation See Hab 3:18 ;  joy is associated with God’s restorative salvation See Ps 51:5; joy is in the salvation of the Lord See Ps 21:1;  joy is in the result of our faith in Jesus Christ , which is the salvation of our souls See 1 Peter 1 :7-8 ;  joy is with people who know that the salvation of the Lord is from generation to generation See Is 51:7; 10, 11; joy is associated with drawing water out of the wells of salvation See Is 12:3 ;  and joy is in the God of our salvation as the Lord God is our strength , even if the fig tree does not blossom, fruit is not in the vines, the labour of the olive shall fail , the fields yield no meat , the flock is cut off from the fold, and there is no herd in the stalls.  See  Hab 3:17-18 .

Joy is to the redeemed of the Lord  See Is 52:8, 9; joy is with the redeemed of the Lord See Is 51: 11; joy is obtained by the redeemed of the Lord See  Is 51:7; 11; joy is everlasting to the redeemed of the Lord  See Is 51:7, 11;  joy is upon the head of the redeemed of the Lord See Is 51:7, 11  ;  and joy is in the redeemed children of Israel, once scattered , being gathered by the Lord  and brought again to their own border : the habitation of justice, the mountain of holiness in Judah itself  . See Jer 31:10-14, 17, 23-24   

Joy is in being redeemed and ransomed from the hand of one stronger than you See Jer 31:10, 11;  and joy is everlasting and upon the heads of the ransomed of the LORD that return to Zion by the way of holiness See Is 35 :8-10  .

Joy is associated with the freedom and return from captivity See Jer 33: 7, 9, 11 .

Joy is associated with God hiding his face from our sins See Ps 51:5-12.

Joy is associated with God blotting out all of our iniquities See Ps 51:5-12 .

Joy is associated with God’s creation of cleanness in our hearts See Ps 51:5-12;  joy is associated with God’s cleaning of our hidden , inward part. See Ps 51:5-12 ;  joy is to those who depart from all the nations and become clean. See Is 52: 7,9,11 ;  joy is to those who depart from all the ends of the earth and become clean See Is 52: 7,9,11 ;  joy is associated with the cleansing of Judah and Israel from all of their iniquity, sinning and transgression See Jer 33: 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13  ;  joy is continuing and fulfilling by abiding , keeping and continuing in the cleansing love,  words and commandments of Jesus See John 15:1-11 ; and joy is in humbly submitting in the sight of the Lord God by His grace , through resisting the devil and pride, being afflicted, in mourning, weeping and  heaviness, cleansing your hands, and drawing near to God. See James 4:5 -10 .

Joy is associated with the eternal mercy,  goodness and prosperity procured unto Judah and Israel by the Lord  See Jer 33: 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13.

Joy is to the wicked and unrighteous who forsake their own ways and thoughts and return to the Lord God’s higher thoughts and ways See  Is 55: 7-13 ;   joy is to the wicked and unrighteous who forsake their own ways and thoughts and return to the Lord , receiving the mercy and the abundant pardon of God. See Is 55: 7-13. ; and joy is to the wicked and unrighteous who forsake their own ways and thoughts and receive , go out in accord with, and produce and prosper from the water, seed and bread of the Lord God’s word as an everlasting sign to the name of the Lord See Is 55: 7-13.

Joy is in the life of your soul See Is 55: 3,12 ;  joy is to those whose souls do not sorrow any more at all See Jer 31:10-14;   joy is in one’s soul being clothed by God with the robe of righteousness See Is 61:3 , 10, 11 ;  joy is to those whose souls are satiated and satisfied with the Lord’s goodness See Jer 31:10-14 ;  and joy is to those whose souls are satiated and satisfied and replenished as a well watered garden  See Jer 31:10-14, 25.

Joy is of the heart See Ezek 36:5;  joy is of one’s heart See Jer 15:16;  joy is associated with the heart See Is 65:13, Lam 5:15;  joy is with those who are upright in heart See Ps 32:11;  joy is with people within whose heart is the law of the Lord See Is 51:7;  and joy is in the heart of the counselors of peace See Prov 12:20 .

Joy is associated with God’s wisdom in our hidden , inward part  See Ps 51:5-12 .

Joy is in our receiving our atonement with God through our Lord Jesus Christ  See Rom 5:11.

Joy is fulfilled in fellowshipping with the eternal Word of life which was with the Father in the beginning, Jesus Christ His Son, which was manifested unto his fellowshipping and witnessing disciples, as well as in fellowshipping with those who have heard and received their declaration See 1 Jo 1:1-4 .

Joy is of faith in Jesus Christ See Phi 1:25,26 ;  joy is associated with the faith in and the love of Jesus Christ See 1 Pet 1:7-8  ;  joy is associated with the faith in and the love of Jesus Christ and it is unspeakable and full of glory  See 1 Pet 1:7-8  ;  and joy is in the heavy, manifold and temporary temptations that try our precious and eternal faith as with fire , so that it might be found unto praise and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ  See 1 Peter 1: 6-8 .

Joy is in the Holy Ghost See Rom 14:17;  joy is associated with righteousness and peace in the Holy Ghost , which is the kingdom of God  See Rom 14:17;   joy is of the Holy Ghost See 1 Th 1:6;   joy is associated with the filling of the Holy Ghost See Acts 13:52;  and joy is in being filled to abounding by the God of hope in believing in Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Ghost. See Rom 15:1 .

Joy is associated with having the Holy Spirit See Ps 51:5 -12 ;  joy is our faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ , by God, who establishes us , anoints us and seals us in Christ, giving us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts See 2 Cor 1:24;  joy is in having the spirit of glory and of God resting upon you See 1 Pe 4 : 13-14;   joy is a fruit the Spirit See Gal 5:22;   joy is the product of the temporary and grievous chastening of the Father of our spiritual lives, that we who are exercised thereby may be partakers of His holiness See Heb 12:7-11;   joy is to be like minded with one another  , having the same love , being of one accord , and of one mind concerning the consolation, the comfort of love , the fellowship of the Spirit and bowels and mercies in Christ See Phi 2:1-2 ;   joy is associated with God’s renewal of a right spirit within us See Ps 51:5-12 ;  joy is associated with God’s upholding of us with His free spirit See Ps 51:5; and joy is associated with one’s name being written in heaven , not in one’s spiritual power and authority over the spirits of the devil See  Luke 10:17-20 .

Joy is in the Lord See Ps 32:11, Hab 3:18;   joy is of the Lord See Is 51: 11;  and joy is in rejoicing the Lord See Hab 3:18 .

Joy is fulfilled with the countenance of the Lord See Act 2:28; John 16:20-22  .

Joy is to those who are comforted by the Lord See Is 51:7 , 11, 12;   joy is to the comforted people of the Lord See Is 52:9;  and joy is to be turned away from sorrow and comforted by the Lord  See Jer 31:10-14 .

Joy is fulfilled in the presence of the Lord See Ps 16:11 ;  joy is associated with our being within the presence of God See Ps 51: 5-12  ; joy is in the presence of the resurrected Christ and cannot be taken away by man. See John 16:20 -22 ;  joy is exceeding in being kept from falling and presented faultless before the presence of the only wise God our Saviour See  Jde 1:24 -25 ;  joy is fulfilled in asking and receiving from and in the presence of the love of the Father through the name of His Son Jesus. See John 16:23-27  ;  and joy is to be present with the brethren who will be in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming See 1 Th 2:17-20 , 2 Tim 1:4.

Joy is in the presence of the angels of God in heaven over every sinner that repents  See Luke 15:7, 10 .

Joy is associated with the Lord being at hand See Phil 4 : 4-5;  joy is fulfilled at the right hand of the Lord See Ps 16:11;   joy is found within the fullness of God’s righteous right hand See Ps 48:1, 2, 3, 8 -11;  joy is found within the praise of God’s righteous right hand See Ps 48:1, 2, 3, 8 -11;  and joy is in laying aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith , running with patience and endurance the race or the cross that is set before us, despising the shame and contradiction of sinners against us, and then sitting down at the right hand of the throne of God  See Heb 12:1-2.

Joy is in being righteous See Ps 32:11; and joy is in the peaceable fruit of righteousness See Heb 12 :11.

Joy is found within the praise of God’s judgements  See Ps 48:1, 2, 3, 8 -11;  and joy is to the just who are doing judgment See Prov 21:15 .

Joy is everlasting pleasure See Ps 16:11;   joy is with the people who know that the righteousness of the Lord is forever See Is 51:7.8;  and joy is in an everlasting covenant with the Lord , the sure mercies of David, a witness,  leader and commander of the people  See  Is 55: 3, 4, 12 .

Joy is eternal See Is 65 :18;  joy is associated with being chosen to be a priest and a saint in the eternal resting place of the Lord See Ps 132:9, 13-16  ;  joy is associated with being chosen to be a priest and a saint in the eternal habitation of the Lord See Ps 132:9, 13-16 ; joy is associated with being chosen to be a priest and a saint in the eternal Zion by the Lord See Ps 132:9, 13-16 ;  joy is associated with worshipping,  praising and blessing of God for the remission of sins and the enduing of eternal power from on high through the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ  See Luke; 24:46 -52 ; John 16:22;  and joy is associated with the eternal fullness, riches , and laughter of the reward of heaven after suffering temporal poverty, hunger , separation , hate and reproach from others for the Son of Man’s sake  See Luke 6:20-23.

Joy is found through the leading of God’s light See Ps. 43:3;  and joy is in doing all things without murmurings or disputings so as to be blameless and harmless sons of God who hold forth the word of life and shine as lights in the world , while in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation and world See Phi 2: 2, 14-15 .

Joy is found through the leading of God’s truth See Ps 43:3 ;  joy is possessed by the servants of the God of truth  See Jer 33: 6, , 9, 11;   joy is associated with God’s truth in our hidden , inward part See Ps 51:5-12 ;  joy is associated with the abundance of peace and truth See Is 65:13, 15, 16  ;  joy is fulfilled in hearing that our disciples in the brotherhood are walking in truth See 3 Jo 1:2,3 ;  and joy is to the father and mother who have children who give their hearts and hold on to and observe the ways of truth,  wisdom , instruction and understanding  See Prov. 23:22 -26 .

Joy is associated with seeing the glory of the Lord See Is 35:2;  joy is to those who have clearly seen the holy arm of the Lord from all the nations See Is 52:9,10  ;  joy is to those who have clearly seen the holy arm of the Lord from the ends of the earth See Is 52:9,10 ;  joy is to those who have clearly seen the salvation of our Lord God from all the nations See Is: 52; 9,10  ;  and joy is to those who have clearly seen the salvation of our Lord God from the ends of the earth See Is: 52; 9,10 .

Joy is associated with hearing and receiving God’s word See Matt 13:20 ;  joy is in hearing and understanding the words of the law of the Lord  See Neh 8 : 9,10,12;  joy is associated with receiving the word of the gospel See 1 Th 1:5. 6;  and joy is associated with hearing and receiving the seed of the word of God and allowing it to take root in your heart , keeping it,  and bringing forth fruit with patience to perfection with an honest and good heart See Luke 8:11-15  .

Joy is in listening and coming to the LORD thy God and to the Holy One of Israel who he has glorified , while he is near to you and may be found by you  See Is 55: 5,6,  12.

Joy is in the hearing of the love and faith of the brethren toward Jesus Christ and toward all saints of the brotherhood, and in the communication of their acknowledgement of every good thing which is in each of them in Christ Jesus,  which is refreshing and consoling to the bowels of other brothers and partners in the Lord See  Phm 1:4-7, 17-20;   joy is in hearing good tidings about the brethren concerning their faith , charity, steadfastness in the Lord, and love toward one another and all men , as they progress towards the end of hearts being established as unblameable in holiness before God the Father at the coming of the Lord Jesus with all his saints See 1 Th 3:6-13 ;  and joy is caused among the brethren in hearing about the conversion of the Gentiles See Acts 15:3 .

Joy is to the father and mother who have children that hearken to and do not despise them when they are old. See Prov 23:22 .

Joy is associated with our Lord’s kingdom of heaven See Matt 25:14-23; and joy is associated with finding the kingdom of heaven See Matt 13:44 .

Joy is found at the altar of God  See Ps 43;3-4.

Joy is found within God’s tabernacles See Ps 43:3.

Joy is found upon God’s holy hill  See  Ps 43:3.

Joy is found within thoughts of the loving kindness of God in the midst of His temple See Ps 48:1 , 2, 3, 8 -11

Joy is of the sanctuary of the Lord God  See Ezek 24 :21, 25.

Joy is associated with the excellency of our God See Is 35:2;  and joy is of the excellency of the strength of the house of Israel, Jerusalem  See Ezek 24 :21, 25.

Joy is associated with the houses of the kings of Judah See Jer 33: 4, 6, 9, 11;  joy is associated with the presence of gladness within the house of God  See Joe 1:16;  joy is associated with gladness, the sacrifice of praise , and the bride and the bridegroom together in the house of the Lord  See Jer 33: 4, 6, 8, 9, 11,12  13 , 15   ;  joy is associated with the land of the LORD our righteousness , where righteousness and justice is executed by He who is the Branch of righteousness and by He that has grown up unto David : the son of David , who reigns upon the throne of the House of Israel forever, and who has ended the need of the Levite priests to have a man to go continually before the Lord to offer burnt offerings, to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice. Joy is associated with a day when the city of the just Lord shall have its enemy cast out , its judgments taken away , and its evil removed by the Lord See Zep :3:1 , 8 -17;   joy is associated with the people of the city of the just Lord, who will get praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame among all the people of the earth,   in a day after the Lord has devoured all the kingdoms and nations of the earth with the fire of his indignation, fierce anger and jealousy See Zep :3:1 , 8 -20;   joy is associated with an afflicted and poor people of the city of the just Lord , that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly,  to whom the reproach of it was a burden, who were halted and driven out and put to shame in many lands,  who will one day be saved , gathered and brought back  , with their affliction and captivity undone,  after the Lord has devoured all the kingdoms and nations of the earth with the fire of his indignation, fierce anger jealousy See Zep :3:1 , 8 -20 ;   joy is associated with a day , when the city of the just Lord, the daughter of the Lord’s dispersed, the remnant of Israel,  the daughter of Zion, Israel , the daughter of Jerusalem , Jerusalem , the Lord’s holy mountain, shall no longer have those in their midst who rejoice in the pride and haughtiness of the Lord’s holy mountain  See  Zep :3:1 , 8 -17;  joy is associated with the people of the city of the just Lord , who have no princes, judges, prophets and priests who are oppressive and well fed , as roaring lions and evening wolves , light and treacherous persons who pollute and corrupt and make filthy the sanctuary, doing violence to the law and having no shame See Zep 3:1-5, 7, 17;   joy is associated with the people of the city of the just Lord ,  who one day will not fear and whose hands one day will not be slack, after the Lord has devoured all the kingdoms and nations of the earth with the fire of his indignation, fierce anger jealousy See Zep :3:1 , 8 -19;   joy is associated with a day , when an afflicted and poor people of the city of the just Lord,  who trust in the Lord ,  shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid See Zep 3:1, 5, 8, 9, 13, 17;   joy is associated with the people of the city who draw near to their God, who receive correction and instruction and trust of the just Lord, the king of Israel, within their midst See Zep 3:1, 5 , 7, 15, 17;   joy is associated with gladness and cheerful feasts in the house of Judah , Zion, Jerusalem, the city of truth, the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain, the remnant and residue of the people of the Lord of hosts, the temple of the Lord of hosts, the house of Israel, with the Lord of Hosts dwelling within its midst in truth and righteousness See Zec 8:1-19;    joy is associated with the people of the city of the just Lord , who will one day, after the Lord has devoured all the kingdoms and nations of the earth with the fire of his jealousy ,   have a pure language and call upon the Lord with one consent See Zep 3:1, 5, 8, 9, 17 ;  and joy is associated with a day , when an afflicted and poor people of the city of the just Lord,  who trust in the Lord ,  shalt thou not be ashamed for all the doings of that city , wherein it has transgressed against the Lord See Zep :3:1 , 8 -17.

Joy is associated with the multiplied seed of David, the servant of the Lord ,  the Levite priestly servants who minister unto the Lord, and who are to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob  , for the Lord will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them See Jer 33: 4, 6, 8, 9, 11,12  13 , 15 , 21, 22, 26and joy is associated with the presence of meat and drink offerings available to the priests of the altar , the ministers of God within the house of God See Joe 1:12 .

Joy is associated with the daughter of the Lord’s dispersed, his suppliants , who bring the Lord’s offering from beyond the rivers of Ethiopia See Zep 3: 10 , 17 ; Zep :3:1 , 8 -17  .

Joy is associated with the daughter of Jerusalem , the daughter of Zion, the beauty of Israel, the footstool of the Lord , the habitations of Jacob, the strong holds of the daughter of Judah, the kingdom , the horn of Israel, Jacob,  the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion, Israel, the palaces of Israel, the strong holds of Israel, the daughter of Judah, the tabernacle of Israel, the places of the assembly of Israel, Zion, the altar of the Lord, the tabernacle of the Lord , the walls of the palaces of the Lord’s sanctuary, the house of the Lord, the wall of the daughter of Zion, the rampart and the wall of the daughter of Zion, the gates of the daughter of Zion, the bars of the daughter of Zion , the virgins of Jerusalem, the daughter of Jerusalem, the virgin daughter of Zion,  the wall of the daughter of Zion,  the daughter of the people of the Lord , the sanctuary of the Lord ; the city that men call the perfection of beauty , the joy of the whole earth  See Lam 2:1-22;  joy is associated being saved by the Lord of hosts , from the east country and from the west country,  and brought to dwell as the people of God within the midst of the gates of the house of Judah , Zion, Jerusalem, the city of truth, the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain, the remnant and residue of the people of the Lord of hosts, the temple of the Lord of hosts, the house of Israel, with the Lord of Hosts dwelling within its midst in truth and righteousness. Joy is associated with the intactness of the habitations of Jacob, the house of the Lord ,  the walls of the palaces of house of the Lord , the Lord’s footstool , the strongholds of the daughter of Judah, the wall of daughter of Jerusalem: the city that men call the perfection of beauty of the whole earth,  the virgin daughter of Zion , the habitations of the virgin daughter of Zion,  the wall of the virgin daughter of Zion ,  the rampart of the virgin daughter of Zion,  the bars of the virgin daughter of Zion, the horn of Israel , the altar of the Lord , the wall of the sanctuary of the Lord ,  and the places of assembly of the Lord. Joy is fulfilled in those given to Christ by the Holy Father and kept, as one with the Holy Father as Jesus is one with the Holy Father , through the Holy Father’s own name  See John 17:11 -13.

Joy is possessed by the elect of the Lord God  See Is 65:13,22  .

Joy is possessed by the chosen of the Lord God  See Is 65:13,22  .

Joy is to be gathered and kept as a member of the flock with the Lord as your sheperd  See Jer 31: 10,11.

Joy is a calling to the people of all nations See Is 55: 3,4,5,12;  and joy is of finding and eating God’s words by those called by the name of the LORD God of hosts  See Jer 15:16 .

Joy is to the thirsty ones who come to the waters See Is 55:1, 12 .

Joy is to those who have no money, yet buy wine and milk without money and without price  See Is 55:1, 12 .

Joy is possessed by the seed of the blessed of the Lord God See Is 65:13, 15, 16 , 23  ; and joy is associated with not allowing the seed of the word of God to be choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life See Luke 8:11-15 .

Joy is with the people who are of the arm of the Lord See Is 51:7,9 .

Joy is your strength when it is of the LORD See Neh 8:10 ; and joy is in the strength of the Lord See Ps 21:1 .  

Joy is fulfilled in the path of life See  Ps 16:11 .

Joy is associated with finishing the course, the race , the ministry , the labor and the cross which we have received of the Lord Jesus See Acts 20:24, Phi 2:16 .

Joy is in walking uprightly to a man who has understanding and wisdom. See  Prov 15:21

Joy is possessed by those who shall go out and are led forth in peace  See Is 55:12 .

Joy is in being humbly obedient to God, even to the point of death upon the cross See Phi 2:2,7-8  ;  joy is in being obedient and submissive to them that must rule over, watch and give account for your souls See Heb 13:17;  and joy is in obeying God the Father , working out your own salvation with fear and trembling through God working in you to both will and to do of his good pleasure See Phi 2 :2,12-13 .

Joy is in allowing nothing to be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind letting each esteem the other better than themselves See Phi 2:2,3 ;  and joy is in allowing the same mind to be within you that was in the mind of Christ. See Phi 2:2,5 .

Joy is in making oneself of no reputation , taking upon yourself the form of a servant See Phi 2: 2 , 7;   joy is associated with good, faithful and profitable servancy to the Lord See Matt 25:14-23,29  ;  and joy is to be offered upon the service and sacrifice of others faith in Jesus Christ as Lord  See Phi 2:2, 11,16-18  .

Joy in the LORD is increased to the meek and the poor among men  See Is 29:19.

Joy is in every man not looking just upon his own things, but also upon the things of others See Phi 2:2,4 .

Joy can be obtained by the answer of a word of counsel spoken in due season See Prov 15:22-23;  and joy is associated with purposes established through a multitude of counselors  See Prov 15:22-23.

Joy is given to a man who is good in God’s sight  See Ecc 2:26.

Joy is associated with glorifying God if you suffer as a Christian See 1 Pe 4 :12-16 ; and joy is associated with fiery trials, reproaches for the name of Christ, being a partaker of Christ’s sufferings, and suffering as a Christian because of the resulting and exceeding gladness that will result when the glory of Christ shall be revealed  See 1 Pe 4:12 -13, 16.

Joy is associated with health and curing See Jer 33:6, 9 , 11.

Joy is associated with gladness See Luke 1:14;  and joy is connected with hearing gladness from God , that we may rejoice in our brokenness See Ps 51:5-12 .

Joy is associated with the singing and the clapping of hands  See  Is 55: 12.

Joy is associated with fir and myrtle growth See Is 55:12 , 13.
