WHAT IS IT TO BE SANCTIFIED ?

The Following Study Article Is Composed From Preliminary Study Notes As I Progressively Step Through A Biblical Word Study On “The Cornerstone”. All References Are To The KJV.

To be sanctified is to be washed ( see Ex. 19:10, 14; 1 Cor 6:11 );  it is to be cleansed ( see  Eph 5:26) ; it is to be cleansed with the washing of water by the word ( see Eph 5:26); it is to be purified by the blood of the sin offering (see Lev 8:14 ); it is to be without spot  ( see Eph 5:27) ; it is to be without blemish ( see Eph 5: 27) ; it is to be without wrinkle ( see Eph 5 :27 ) ; it is to be glorious ( see Eph 5 :27 ) ; it is to be holy ( see Ex 29:37, Ex 30:29, Lev 11:44, Lev 20:7, Lev. 21:8, Eph 5:27 ) ; and it is be preserved blameless in spirit, soul and body unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ ( see 1 Th 5:23 ) .

To be sanctified is to receive forgiveness of sins ( see Acts 26:18);  it is to be reconciled by the blood of the sin offering ( see Lev 8:14 ); it is to be justified by the Spirit of God  ( see 1 Co 6:11 ) ; and it is to be justified in the name of the Lord Jesus ( see 1 Co 6:11) .

It is to have your eyes opened ( see Acts 26:18); it is to be turned from darkness to light ( see Acts 26:18); and it is to be turned from the power of Satan to God ( see Acts 26:18) .

It is to have an inheritance from God ( see Acts 20:32, Acts 26:18) ; it is to be a member of the children of Israel ( see Lev 20:8,  Eze 37:28) ; it is to be a member of the congregation of the LORD ( see 2 Ch 31:16, 18) ; it is to be part of a brethren beloved by the Lord ( see 2 Thess 2:13); it is to be a member of the Church ( see Eph 5:25, 26, 27 ) ; it is to be a mighty one of the Lord of hosts  ( see Is 13:3);  and it is to be one who rejoices in the Lord’s highness ( see Is 13:3) .

To be sanctified is something done by the LORD, not man ( see Ex 31:13, Lev 20:8, Lev 21:8, Ex. 20:12, Eze 37:28); it is done through the word of the Holy Father ( see John 17:17) ; it is by the word of God’s grace ( see Acts 20:32); and it is done by the very God of peace ( see 1 Th 5:23) .

It is done through the truth ( see John 17:19) ;  it is done through the truth of the Holy Father ( see John 17:17) ; and it is done through belief of the truth ( see 2 Thess 2:13) .

To be sanctified is in Christ Jesus ( see 1 Co 1:2) ; it is done for us by God in Christ Jesus ( see 1 Co 1:30) ; it is done through Jesus’ love of the Church ( see Eph 5:25 ) ;  it is done through Jesus sacrifice of Himself for the Church  ( see Eph 5:25) ; it is done through Jesus own sanctification of Himself ( see John 17:19) ; it is done through the blood of Jesus ( see Heb 13:12) ; and it is done by faith in the Lord Jesus ( see Acts 26: 15, 18).

It is by the Holy Ghost (see Rom 15:16); it is of and through the Spirit ( see 2 Thess 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2 ) ; it is done through anointing ( see Lev 8:11) ; it is done through the pouring of anointing oil upon the priest’s head ( see Lev 8:12) .

To be sanctified is to be ordained by the Lord ( see Jer 1:5 ) ; it is to become a priest ( see 2 Ch 30:24 ); it is so that the priests can come near to the LORD ( see Ex 19:22) ; it is to enable the priests to come into the holy place ( see 2 Ch 5:11) ; it is to be separated and enabled as priests to bless his name forever ( see 1 Ch 23:13) ; it is to be separated and enabled as priests to minister unto the LORD ( see 1 Ch 23:13) ; it is to be separated and enabled as priests to do the work of the service of the house of God ( see 1 Ch. 23:13,28 ) ; it is to be enabled as a priest to make offerings in the house of the Lord ( see 2 Ch 30:15) ; it is to have an altar most holy ( see Ex 29:37, Ex 40:10); it is to be a vessel prepared before the altar of the Lord ( see 2 Ch 29:19) ; it is to have the LORD’s sanctuary within your midst for evermore ( see Eze 37:28) ; it is to be enabled as a priest to keep a particular charge for the Lord ( see 2 Ch 35:2 , Eze 48:11); it is to separated and enabled by the Lord as a priest for an appointed course of service in the house of the LORD ( see 2 Ch 31: 2,15, 16 ) ; it is to enable the priests to minister unto the Lord in their office  ( see Ex 28:41, Ex 29: 44, Ex 40:13 ) ; and it is to be separated and enabled by the Lord as a priest for a set office of service in the house of the LORD ( see 2 Ch 31:16,18) .

To be sanctified is to be chosen for salvation from the beginning by God ( see 2 Thess 2:13) ; it is to be elected according to the foreknowledge of God the Father ( see 1 Peter 1:2) ; it is to be elected unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ ( see 1 Peter 1:2 ) ; it is to be called to be saints ( see 1 Co 1:2) ; it is to be sent into the world by the Father ( see John 10:36 ); it is a gift to enable a ministry of and for Jesus Christ ( see Rom 15:15,16 );  it is to enable us to do the will of God ( see 1 Th 4:3) ; it is to be enabled to sacrifice unto the Lord ( see 1 Sa 16:5) ; it is to enable us to abstain from fornication ( see 1 Th 4:3 );  and it is to enable the children of Israel to keep the Lord’s statutes, and do them ( see Lev 20:8) .
