AFFLICTION

The Following Study Article Is Composed From Preliminary Legal Study Based Notes As I Progressively Step Through A Key Word Study On “The Cornerstone”.  All References Are To The KJV.

Affliction is the trouble into which a man is born . See Job 5:6-7, 19

Affliction it is to be hated by another See Gen 29 : 31 , 32, 33 .

Affliction is to be loved less than another See Gen 29:30, 32 ; it is to be separated from one’s husband through his primary love for another  See Gen 29 : 30, 32 -34;  it is to have one’s lovers friends and acquaintances put far away and one made an abomination unto them , shut up from them and not able to come forth, compassed about by them daily like water  See Ps 88:7 -9 , 17, 18 ; and it is from the LORD is to bruise incurably and wound grievously with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of your iniquity; because your sins were increased;  with no one to plead for your cause, bind you up and bring you healing medicines , with all your lovers  forgetting you and not seeking you , because your sins were increased. , so that you cry for your incurable sorrow , with the LORD restoring health unto thee, healing you of your wounds,  because they called you an Outcast, saying, “ This is Zion, whom no man seeks after “ . See Jer 30: 8-17

Affliction from the LORD is to be persecuted by princes without a cause . See Ps 119 : 107, 153, 161 .

Affliction is to be dealt with perversely by the proud without a cause See Ps 119:75,78  ;  and it is to be persecuted wrongfully by the proud and almost consumed upon the earth.    See Ps 119:75, 85, 86 , 87

Affliction is associated with the craftiness of the wise See Job 5: 6 , 13 ;  and it is associated with the devices and enterprises of the crafty.  See Job 5: 6, 12.

Affliction is associated with the counsel of the froward.    See Job 5: 6 , 13

Affliction is associated with the scourge of the tongue.   See Job 5:6,21

Affliction is to be derided by those younger than you , to be abhorred, spit upon , abandoned  made a song and a byword  by them  See Job 30:1 , 9-10;  it is to have the youth turn their terrors upon you , pursuing your soul as the wind, with your welfare passing away as the cloud See Job 30:1 , 9-15 ; and it is to have youth rise against you, push away your feet, raise the ways of their destruction and desolation against you without restraint, and set forward your calamity.  See Job 30: 1: 9-13 .

Affliction is to have the wicked wait upon you to destroy you  See Ps 119:92, 95 ;  it is to have the wicked lay a snare for you See Ps 119:75, 92, 110;  it is associated with the Lord’s jealousy, fire like fury, revenge, wrath , fierce anger, power against the wicked , his way and footpath in the whirlwind storm and clouds , his indignation ,   See Nah 1-12 ; and it is associated with the Lord cutting off and destroying the vile graven and molten images of the wicked from out of the house of the God of Judah , with the wicked being utterly cut off and no longer passing through it , and with Judah thereafter and thereby keeping its vows  and  performing its solemn feasts.  See Nah 1::12-15

Affliction is to be in reproach See Neh 1:3 ;  and affliction is to be considered a worm , a reproach of man,  laughed to scorn for trusting in God for deliverance , with the shooting of the lip and shaking of the head.  See Ps 22: 6-8, 24 .

Affliction is to be made a reproach and a scorn and a derision to the heathen surrounding you by God, even though you have not not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant See Ps 44:2 , 11-14 , 17 ;  it is to be sold to the heathen at no price by God even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant  See Ps 44 : 2, 11, 12, 17 ; it is to be scattered among the heathen and given like sheep appointed for meat by God , even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44:2 , 11, 17  ;  it is to be made a byword and a shaking of the head among the heathen people by God,  even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant  See Ps 44:2, 11-14, 17  ;  and it is associated with the great jealousy, indignation  and displeasure of the Lord of hosts because of the fathers for the house of Jerusalem and Zion and cities of Judah , along with the heathen that are at ease .See Zec 1: 1, 2, 12 14-15

Affliction is to be provoked by an adversary because of womb that has been shut up by the Lord See 1 Sa 1:6, 7   ; and it is to be in fretting, weeping, bitterness of soul, grieving heart, sorrowful spirit, sad countenance and in not eating because of a womb that has been shut up by the Lord  . See 1 Sa 1:6 – 11, 15.

Affliction is to be put to shame by God, even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44: 2,9 , 17 ;  and it is to have armies that are cast off and put to shame by God , even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant.  See Ps 44:2, 9

Affliction is the bread and water of prison See 1 Ki 22:27 ; and it is the bread and water of adversity so that your teachers shall not be removed into a corner anymore , but your eyes shall hear your teachers and your eyes shall hear a word behind you , saying , this is the way, walk in it , when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left See Is 30: 20 -21.

Affliction is associated with have your cord loosed by God  See Job 30:1, 11; and it is associated with having the bridle let loosed before you by those younger than you See Job 30:1, 9-11 .

Affliction is to be bound in fetters and held in cords See Job 36 : 8 ; it is to be bound with fetters and carried away See 2 Chron 33 :11-12 ;  and it is  associated with giving praise to the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men, because he satisfies and fills the longing and hungry soul, sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death with their hearts brought down with labor , fallen down with none to help , being bound in affliction and iron because they rebelled against the words of God, and scorned the counsel of the most High , by hearing their cry and bringing them out of trouble and distress of darkness and the shadow of death, and braking their bands and gates of brass , cutting the bars of iron in sunder. See Ps. 107: 8-10, 12-16 .

Affliction is to be a bondman in Egypt See Deut 16 :1, 3 , 12 ; it is to be laid upon with hard bondage See Deut 26 : 6,7 ;  it is associated with the Lord breaking the yoke of the wicked from off of you and bursting your bonds of the wicked in sunder See Nah 1- 12-13 ;  and it is of the Lord of Hosts to break the yoke of the stranger from off of the neck of children of Israel and Judah , bursting his bonds , with strangers no more serving themselves of him , so that they serve the LORD their God , and David their king whom the Lord raises up to them . See Jer 30:8-9.

Affliction is oppression See Job 36:15;  it is to have God oppose you with a cruel and strong hand See Job 30: 16, 21 ;  it is oppression , even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See  Ps 44:2 , 17 , 24 ;  it is in God’s seeming condemnation , destruction and oppression of us, the work of his hands  See Job, 10:2-3, 8 , 15;  and it is to be treated by God as if he were asleep , hiding his face and forgetting your oppression , even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant.  See Ps 44:2 , 17,  23, 24 .

Affliction is to have oppression in labor See Deut 26 : 7 ; and affliction is to labor with your hands and unfairly bear loss in it .  See Gen 31:39,42 .

Affliction is to be a faithful and steady servant for 14 years and yet have your wages unfairly changed 10 times during that period.  See Gen 31: 41,42 .

Affliction is to have sorrow and to cry by reason of the oppression of your taskmaster  See Exo 3:7:9, 17 ; it is to be unfairly burdened , worked, beaten, poorly supplied  and misjudged by your taskmaster.  See Exo 5 :4-19

Affliction is to be forsaken by God See Ps 22 :1 , 24

Affliction is when God is far from the words of your roaring See Ps 22:1 , 24

Affliction is when the Lord leaves you and returns to his own place until you acknowledge your offense and seek His face See Hos 5 :15

Affliction is when God does not hear your crying both day and night  See Ps 22:1 , 2, 24  ;  it is to stand up and cry before God , with no hearing or regard by Him See Job 30: 16, 20  ;  it is associated with the Lord hearing, seeing and coming down to deliver his people  from his groaning in Eqypt through those he sends See Acts 7:34 ;  it is to punish a man for his sins so that he search and try his ways for his transgression and rebellion, crying out to the Lord of his low and cut off dungeon,   and turn again to the LORD,  lifting up his  heart with his  hands unto God in the heavens, till the LORD hears his voice and beholds Him, drawing near to him from heaven, saying “fear not “. See Lam 1: 33-42, 50, 55-57 ;  and it is associated with causing you to cease observing lying vanities , to  remember , cry and pray to the LORD and to his holy temple from out of the belly of hell ,  from the place of the casting out of the LORD’s sight into the deep midst of the seas, with the floods compassing you about with all of His billows and waves passing over you ;  from the place of waters compassing about soul with the depth closing you round about and the weeds wrapped about your head from the place down at the bottoms of the mountains, with the earth with her bars about  you for ever and with your soul fainting within you ,  with the LORD then hearing your voice , having mercy upon you and saving you , and with you then, knowing that your salvation is of the Lord, paying your vows to him and sacrificing to him with the voice of thanksgiving See Jon 2:1-10; Nah 1:12-13,15 .

Affliction is associated with crying as a result of being dealt with unjustly by the pride of another See Neh 9: 9-10  ;  it is to cry to God in your destruction and nearness to death ,  without God stretching out his hand to you See Job 30:16:23-24 ; it is to stand up and cry in the congregation, while going about mourning without the sunlight , as a brother to dragons and a companion to owls See Job 30; 16, 27 -29  ;   it is to have a soul full of troubles , with your life drawing near to the grave, while crying and mourning day and night stretching out your hands unto the LORD God,  before He casts off your soul and hides his face from you  See Ps 88:1, 7, 9-14 ;  it is associated with crying to the Lord in your trouble and being saved out of your distresses  See Psalm 107:10-12 ; it is associated with the opening of one’s ears , the crying out to God of the poor , the deliverance from God, the knowing of God, and the living among the clean See Job 36:8-9 ,   12-15 ;  it is associated with men praising the LORD for his goodness and wonderful works to them,  with the sacrifices of thanksgiving and the declaration of his works with rejoicing because when they cried unto the LORD in their trouble he sent his word saved them, healed them and delivered them out of their distresses and destructions caused by their foolish transgressions and iniquities See Ps 107: 10, 15-20 ; it is associated with crying unto the Lord in your trouble, and being brought out of your distress by the Lord, with a gladness because of a stilling of the storm and calming of the waves , and a bringing to your desired haven See Psalm 107 :  10, 28-30  ; it is associated with men who praise the LORD for his goodness and for his wonderful works to them,  exalting him also in the congregation of the people, and praising him in the assembly of the elders, because when they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, he brought them out of their distresses, making the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still, bringing them with gladness unto their desired haven. Ps 107:10, 28-32 ;  it is associated with the giving of thanks to the Lord by those gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south whose cry to the LORD was heard ,  being led forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. See Psalm 107: 4-5 , 7, 10-11 ;  it is where the LORD waits for you in order to be gracious and merciful to you,  hearing and answering the voice of your cry , ending your weeping , binding up your breach and healing the stroke of your wound,  and in order for Him to be exalted when you defile the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold,  casting them away as a menstrual cloth ; saying unto it, Get thee hence.  See Is 30: 18-19  , 22  ; and it is of the LORD to cause men to ride over your head and bring you through fire and water into a wealthy place , God’s house , offering him burnt offerings and sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams and offerings of bullocks with goats, paying Him the vows your lips uttered when you were in trouble , and blessing Him declaring what mercy he hath done and attended to your soul when you disregarded the iniquity in your heart and cried and prayed unto him with your mouth,  extolling Him with your tongue. See Ps 66:11-18.

Affliction is the bitterness of being without any helper See 2 Ki 14:26 ;  it is to be far from the help of God See Ps 22: 1, 24 ; it is to have the proximity of trouble with no one near to help you, including God   See Ps 22:11, 24 ;  it is to be poured out like water, with all your bones out of joint: with your heart like wax melted in the midst of your bowels with no one near to help you, including God   See Ps 22:11, 14, 24;  it is to have men like many bulls surrounding you : as strong bulls of Bashan gaping upon you with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion, with no one near to help you, including God   See Ps 22:11-13, 21,  24 ;  it is to have an assembly of wicked men surround and enclose you like dogs;  pierce your  hands and my feet; look and stare upon the visibility of all of your bones ; part your garments among themselves and cast lots for your vesture , with no one near to help you and give you strength , including God   See Ps 22:11, 16-20,  24 ;  it is of the LORD to cause us to choose and seek His nearness in our crying and supplication to Him for His salvation and for the teaching of his righteous  statutes law, commandments , judgments , understanding and deliverance according to his word , and the help of his hand , promising him praise of our souls , the speaking of His word and the remembrance of his commandments.  See Ps 119 : 107, 153, 169-176 ;  and it places one in need of God’s help , for Him to arise and redeem our souls for his mercies sake See Ps 44:2 , 24 -26 .

Affliction is associated with those who mourn See Job 5:6, 11;  it is to have your harp turned to mourning and your organ turned into the voice of those that weep.  See Job 30:16, 27 , 31 .

Affliction is associated with the LORD’s saving of the contrite in spirit See Ps 34 :17-19 . 

Affliction is associated with the lowly . See Job 5 :6,  11

Affliction is associated with being desolate . See Ps 25 :16

Affliction is to be lifted up and caused to ride upon the wind by God , dissolving your substance.  See Job 30:16, 22

Affliction is associated with famine See Job 5:6, 20, 22; is a dearth and lack of the finding of sustenance over the land See Acts 7: 11 ; and it is when evil comes upon you in the form of sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine See  2 Ch 20: 9.

Affliction is to be consumed by drought during the day and frost by night, with the lack of sleep as a result .  See Gen 31:40, 42 .

Affliction is associated with being afraid of the beasts of the earth See Job 5:6, 22

Affliction is to wander hungry and thirsty in the wilderness in a solitary way , with your your heart fainting within you , finding no city to dwell in, because you rebelled against the words of God, and scorned the counsel of the most High See Psalm 107 :4-5 , 10, 11 ;  and it is associated with the righteous seeing and the wise observing and understanding the loving kindness of the LORD , for he turns rivers into a wilderness, and the water springs into dry ground; a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein; he turns the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into water springs,  and there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase; he blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffers not their cattle to decrease.; again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression and sorrow and the contempt he pours upon princes,  causing them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way; yet he sets the poor on high from the place of oppression and sorrow and the contempt He pours , and makes him families like a flock.  See Psalm 107 : 10 , 33-43 .

Affliction is to have your sinews have no rest.  See Job 30 :16-17

Affliction is to be prevented from resting because your bowels are boiling . See Job 30:16, 27 – 28

Affliction is to have a forceful disease.  See Job 30 : 16, 18

Affliction is laid upon our loins and brings us into the net in order to prove us and to try us like silver is tried.   See Ps 66:10 , 11

Affliction is to have your bones pierced in the night season See Job 30 : 16,17 ;  and it is to have your skin blackened and your bones burned with heat.  See Job 30 : 16, 27 , 29

Affliction is a time when your soul is poured out upon you See Job 30:16 ;  and it is to have your soul bowed down to the dust with your belly cleaving unto the earth,  even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44:2, 17 , 24-25 .

Affliction is to be brought darkness when you are waiting for light See Job 30 :16 , 26, 27 ;  and it is the way to a land of darkness , as darkness itself , and to the shadow of death, without any order and where the light is as darkness See Job 10 :15 , 21-2.

Affliction is to be laid in the lowest pit , in darkness, in the deeps by the Lord God See Ps 88: 6, 7;  and it is to have pits dug for you by the proud that are unlawful under God’s law  . See Ps 119: 75 , 85

Affliction is to be cast into the mire by God, like dust and ashes See Job 30: 16-17; it is to be unfairly cast out of the possession of a given inheritance by an enemy See 2 Chron 20:9, 11, 29; and it is a casting off and a grieving of the LORD that will not last forever , he will have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies because He does not willingly afflict nor grieve the children of men . See Lam 1 : 31-33 .

Affliction from the Lord is a cause of one’s perishing, unless His law is one’s delight See Psalm 119:  92 ; it is associated with remembering the Lord’s name and keeping his law in the night See Ps 119: 50-55 ; it is associated with not forgetting God’s law ,  rising at midnight  to give thanks unto the LORD because of His righteous judgments, and being a companion of all them that fear the LORD , and of them that keep the LORD’s  precepts,  even when the bands of wicked have robbed you  See Ps 119: 50, 61-63 , 67 ; it to be taken hold of by horror because of the wicked that forsake the law of the LORD See Ps 119:50- 53  ;  it is to be in great derision by the proud because you do not decline from or forsake the law of the LORD See Ps 119: 50-53;  it is associated with keeping the LORD’s precepts with your whole heart and delight in the LORD’s law, even when the proud, those whose hearts are as fat as grease , have forged a lie against you See Ps 119:50, 67-70 ;  it is to have those draw near you that follow after mischief and are far from thy law See Ps 119 :75, 92, 107 ;  it is the result of erring by not heeding or hearkening to do all that the Lord has commanded you, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses See 2 Chron 33 : 8-12 ;  and it is from the LORD to be a cause of our petition to Him for His tender mercy , deliverance and quickening of our souls according to His word and loving kindness on the basis of our not forgetting and not declining His word, precepts, law  statutes, testimonies , eternal truth and eternally righteous judgments, with our hearts standing in awe and love of His word and rejoicing , as one finding great joy,  delight  and peace, with nothing to offend them  . See Ps 119: 107, 153 -161, 163 , 165 , 174,  175.

Affliction is to be killed all the day long for God’s sake and counted as sheep for the slaughter, even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44:2 , 17, 22 .

Affliction is associated with death See Job 5 :6, 20 ; it is to be sorely broken in the place of dragons, covered with the shadow of death by God , even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant See Ps 44:2 , 17, 19  ;  it is to have your strength is dried up like a potsherd; with your tongue cleaving  to your jaws; and with God bringing you into the dust of death. See Ps 22:11, 15, 24  ;  and it is for the soul to abhor all manner of meat and to draw near the gates of death as a result of foolish transgression and the iniquity See Psalm 107: 10, 17, 18 .

Affliction is associated with always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus and being delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake; so that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body,  our mortal flesh See 2 Cor 4 : 10 -11, 17.

Affliction is to be taken among the thorns See 2 Chron 33 : 11-12

Affliction is in increasing confusion about our way before God See Job 10: 15-22

Affliction is to be cursed by an enemy bidden by the Lord See 2 Sa 16 :5 -7, 10-12 ;  it is associated with being ashamed and triumphed upon, with your feet caught in the net of your many and cruelly hating enemy  See Ps 25:2 , 16, 19 ;  it is in crying and sorrow for  the wound of an enemy or the chastisement of a cruel one for the multitude of your iniquity and the increase of your sins See Jer 30:14, 15 ;  it is from the LORD to be made small and despised , with trouble and anguish taking hold of you , by enemies who have forgotten the law of the LORD See Ps 119:75, 92, 139-141 , 43;  it is to have your adversaries as the chief and your enemies prosper , with your children gone into captivity before your enemy, because of your transgressions against the LORD  See Lam 1: 5 ;  it is to be in misery of falling into the hand of the enemy without anyone to help you , remembering all the pleasant things you used to have, with your adversaries mocking you at your Sabbaths See Lam 1 :7;   it is when the LORD turns and fights against his people, his children as their enemy for rebelling against Him and vexing His Holy Spirit See Is 63: 7-10;  and it is when the wrath of the LORD is kindled against his people and when the LORD abhors his own inheritance , bringing them low for their iniquity ,  giving them into the hand of the heathen and giving them  to hate those ruling over them,  enemies who oppress them and bring them into subjection under their hand. See Ps 106:39 – 43 .

Affliction is to be made by God to turn back from and be spoiled by your enemy, even though you have not forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44 :2,9-10, 17  ; and is to be put to continual confusion and shame by the reproaching and blaspheming voice of the enemy and avenger by God, even though you have not  forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44:2 , 11-16 , 17.

Affliction is associated with God’s binding See Job 36 :8-9, 13 ; and it associated with a poor man’s resultant happiness , peace and fruitfulness derived from being saved , binded up and made whole , delivered , redeemed and hidden by God  See Job 5:6 , 15-21, 23-26

Affliction from the LORD is faithful because His judgments are right See Psalm 119:75 .

Affliction is associated with transgression See Job 36:8 -9; and it allowed of the Lord for the multitude of transgressions  See Lam 1:5,7 .

Affliction from the LORD is a good work of the LORD designed to teach one his statutes See Ps 119:50, 59, 67-68;  it is dealt to us in wellness and mercy by the Lord in order to teach us his statutes that indicate that the earth is full of His mercy See Ps 119:50, 64-65 , 67 ;  it is from the LORD and good for you because it enables you to learn His statutes , the law of the LORD’s mouth, which is better for you than thousands of gold and silver See Ps 119: 71-72;  it is associated with having the LORD’s statutes as your songs in the house of your pilgrimage See Ps 119 :50-54 ; and it is associated with the children of Israel, God’s servants , dealing very corruptly against God by not keeping the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which God  commanded His servant Moses. See Neh 1: 3, 6,7 .

Affliction is to eliminate a temporary, shallow and rootless reception of God’s word See Mar 4:3-6, 14-17

Affliction from the LORD is to turn us away from going astray and to keep us in His word See Ps 119:50 , 59, 67 ; it is associated with entreating the LORD’s favor and mercy upon you with your whole heart according to His word See Ps 119: 50- 58 ; it is what causes us petition the LORD to quicken us according to His word See Ps 119: 75, 107  ; it is associated with the comfort of the quickening of the LORD’s word  See Ps 119:50, 52 ;  and it is associated with keeping the LORD’s precepts and having Him as your portion by keeping his word See Psalm 119:50-57.

Affliction from the LORD is what the LORD uses to seek his servant because he has gone astray like a lost sheep, forgetting His commandments  See Ps 119: 107, 153 , 176  ;  it is associated with thinking on your ways , turning your feet unto His testimonies,  and making haste to keep the LORD’s commandments See Ps 119:50-59 ;  it is dealt to us in wellness and mercy by the LORD in order to have us believe his commandments and teach us his good knowledge and judgment See  Ps 119:50, 64-65 , 67 ; and it is good for you because the LORD both makes and fashions you , giving you understanding, that you may learn His commandments See Ps 119 : 71,73 .

Affliction is associated with the chastening and correction of the Almighty God . See Job 5:6, 17

Affliction is associated with God’s discipline and command to return from iniquity See Job 36 :8-10 ; it is associated with God’s command to return from iniquity and obey and serve him See Job 36 : 8-11, 21 ; it is associated with the victimization of the poor by the sword, hand, mouth and iniquity of the mighty See Job 5:6, 15 ;   and it is what causes the Gentiles to say the Lord lives who sends fishers and hunters and  brings up the children of Israel  from all the mountains holes and rocks in  lands where he had driven them , after first recompensing their iniquity and their sin double,  because they have defiled His land, they have filled His inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things and because their fathers inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit, making false gods unto himself ; for neither the children of Israel , their ways nor their iniquity is hidden from His eyes  See Jer 16:15 -21.

Affliction is by the turning of the Lord’s hand against you See Lam 3 :1, 3;  it is in God’s contention with us, the work of his hands See Job 10: 2- 3, 15, 20;  it is associated with soreness and wounding from the hands of God See Job 5 : 6 18 ; it is to be cast off and driven out by the hand of God , even though you have not  forgotten God or have dealt falsely in His covenant. See Ps 44:2,9 , 17, 23 ; it is to counted as those that go down to the pit and as a man who has no strength; free among the dead , like the slain that lie in the grave , whom the Lord God remembers no more, as they are cut off from his hand  See Ps 88: 4-6, 7 ; and it is associated with the sinning of the children of Israel , God’s servants and his people, whom He has redeemed by his great power, and by his strong hand. See Neh 1:3 , 6 , 10 .

Affliction is associated with great trial as well as abundance of poverty and joy abounding unto the riches of liberality See 2 Cor 8:2 ;  and affliction is associated with being a follower of the Lord with other believers , receiving the word of the Lord  and the power, joy and assurance of the Holy Ghost , turning to God from idols to serve the living and true God; waiting for his Son Jesus from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, which delivered us from the wrath to come , in order to be an example to other believers by sounding out the word of the Lord and spreading out  faith toward God in every place.   See 1 Th 1:5-10

Affliction is associated with calamity and distress . See Obad 1:13,14

Affliction is associated with a distressed heart See Ps 25 :2, 16-17 ;  it is associated with anguish of heart and many tears See 2 Co 2:4 ;  it is associated with an enlargement of trouble within your heart See Ps 25 : 16-17, 22  ; it is associated with enlarged, troubling and distressing pain within your heart and soul See Psalm 25 :2 , 16-18;  it is associated with sadness, sadness of countenance, and a sorrowful heart See Neh 1:3, 2:1-3;  it is associated with the LORD’s nearness to the broken hearted  See Ps 34 :17-19 ;  it is associated with having the treasure of the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shining in our hearts within an earthen vessel , preaching not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves servants of others for Jesus’ sake ,  that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us  See 2 Cor 4 :5, 6,7, 17  ;  and it is something to which a follower of Christ is appointed to try the heart and determine if he or she will stand fast in faith in the Lord   and be not moved from it , whether suffering and shameful treatment for boldly contending for the gospel of God , laboring and travailing to preach the gospel of God without charge, the suffering of killing , persecution and the like by your own countrymen ,  the forbidding to speak that others might be saved , the hindering of your plan of action by Satan ,  the suffering of tribulation, and the temptation of the tempter by whatever means . See 1 Th 2, 4, 9 ,14,15,16,18 ; 3:3 -8 .

Affliction is to have God’s fierce waves of wrath go over you and lie hard upon you See Ps 88:1, 7, 16 ;  and it is to real to a fro and stagger like a drunken man at his wit’s end, with your soul melted because of trouble ,  because of the stormy wind and the lifted up and down waves of the Lord See Psalm 107:10 , 25-27

Affliction is by the rod of the wrath of the Lord See Lam 3:1 ;  and it is when the wrath of the LORD is kindled against his people and the Lord abhors his own inheritance when they become defiled and go whoring with their own works and inventions See Ps 106:39 , 40 .

Affliction is something that occurs in the day of the righteous Lord’s fierce anger for rebelling against his commandment.  See Lam 1:12-18

Affliction is associated with war . See Job 5:6 , 20

Affliction is associated with destruction . See Job 5:  6, 21-22

Affliction is to occur as never before and as never after in the time of seeing the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel,  standing where it ought not . See Mark 13:14, 19 

Affliction is in the walls of Jerusalem being broken down See Neh 1:3; and it is a facilitator to building an outer wall for the city of David  .  See 2 Chron 33:12-14

Affliction from the Lord is in captivity of his people Judah and Judah See Jer 30:3, 15  ;  it is to save Israel , Jacob and its seed from the land of their captivity and return them to rest and quietness with none making them afraid See Jer 30:8-10 ;  it is associated with the LORD regarding and hearing the cry of his people, his inheritance, delivering them over and over again, remembering his covenant, and repenting according to the multitude of his mercies., making them to be pitied of all those that carried them captives, saving them and gathering them from among the heathen,  in order for them to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in his praise, blessing the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting, praising the LORD See Psalm 106:39-48.;  it is of the LORD to bring Jacob’s tents out of captivity and have mercy on his dwelling places  , with the city built upon her own heap, and the palace remaining after the manner thereof , out of them proceeding thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry;  with the LORD multiplying and glorifying them , with children and established congregations, punishing all their oppressors, with their nobles of themselves, and their governor proceeding from the midst of them; with his heart engaged and caused to draw near, and approach unto the LORD by the LORD , with they being His people , and He being their God See Jer 30:15, 18-22.

Affliction of the Lord is in a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace of his people Judah and Judah See Jer 30:5, 15 ;  it is the men of his people Israel and Judah with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces turned into paleness in the time of Jacob’s trouble, though he be saved out of it  See Jer 30:6, 7, 15

Affliction is associated with the trembling and fear and the day of trouble of the wicked heathen because of the Lord’s anger , wrath , displeasure and indignation with them for scattering Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem by their carpenters lifting their horns over the land of Judah See Hab 3:2 ,7 -8 , 12 ,13  16 , 20-21,  it is associated with the Lord’s intention to save His people , His anointed See Hab 3:2 ,7 -8 , 12 ,13  16 , 20-21 ;  it is in the gates of Jerusalem being burned with fire See Neh 1:3 ;  it is a facilitator to putting captains of war around all of the fenced cities of Judah See 2 Chron 33:12-14 ; it is a facilitator to knowing that the Lord is God and that He being brought again to into His kingdom, Jerusalem See 2 Chron 33 :12-13 ;  it is a facilitator to repairing the altar of the LORD, and sacrificing peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanding Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel  See 2 Chron 33: 12-16 ; it is a facilitator to taking away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and casting them out of the city See 2 Chron 33:12-15 ; and it is the furnace where those of the house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness,  are refined and chosen , not with silver, so that His name is not polluted, nor His glory given unto another.  See Is 48:1 , 10, 11 .

Affliction is the furnace where those who call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of Hosts, who are transgressors from the womb , and who deal treacherously , are refined and chosen by the God of Israel, the LORD of Hosts, not with silver,  so that His name is not polluted, nor His glory given unto another.  See Is 48: 2 , 10, 11 ;  it is associated with the children of Israel being scattered abroad among the nations through their transgression See Neh 1:3, 6-8 ;  and it is of the LORD to be with you , saving Israel , Jacob  and its seed , not making a full end of them: but to correct them in measure,  not leaving them altogether unpunished See Jer 30: 8-11

Affliction is in a time of punishment for provoking the Lord to wrath, great jealousy and fury for Zion without repentance ,  a time of no hire for man or beast; nor any peace to him that goes out or comes in , when the LORD sets all men every one against his neighbor in a time before the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built See Zec 8: 2,9-10, 14 ; and affliction is where the LORD waits for His people in order to be gracious and merciful to them and in order for Him to be exalted when he binds up their breach and heals stroke of their wound, for the people shall dwell in Zion,  all of them having a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.  See Is 30: 18-19 , 26.

Affliction is associated with evil See Job 5:6 , 19 ; it is to be entreated with evil Deut 26 :6 ,7;  to be brought evil when you are looking for good See Job 30:16, 26, 27 ;  it a time of evil and of a burning fire kindled in the LORD’s anger for the sins of His people See Jer 15:11  -14 ;  it is when the LORD pronounces great evil against you and does not show you any favor because you have forsaken Him , have not kept His law , walking after other gods and serving and worshiping them See Jer 16 :10 – 12, 19; it is the work of evildoers and proud,  oppressing men of iniquity who forget  , do not keep and make void the law of the LORD See Ps 119: 107 115, 121, 122 , 126 , 133,  134, 136, 139  ;  it is when the LORD pronounces great evil against you and does not show you any favor because you walk every one after the imagination of your evil heart, that you may not hearken unto Him,  casting you out of your land into a land that you know not, neither you nor your fathers; there your serving other gods day and night; See Jer 16 :10 – 14, 19 ; it is published and declared ahead of time to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem in order that they return unto the LORD and be saved by breaking up their fallow ground and stopping the sowing among thorns , putting their abominations away and out of the LORD’s sight, circumcising themselves to the LORD, and taking away the foreskins of their hearts and the evil of their doings,  washing their hearts from wickedness and vain thoughts , assembling themselves and going into the defensed cities; setting up the standard toward Zion and swearing, The LORD lives, in truth and in judgment See Jer 4:1 -6 , 14-15 ; it is associated with the LORD of host’s instruction that the fathers of the house of Jerusalem and Zion and cities of Judah turn to Him from their evil ways and doings and hear and hearken unto Him , that He then turn unto them with mercies, to build the house in Jerusalem and stretch forth a line upon it ,  with His cities spread abroad through prosperity , with the LORD comforting  Zion and choosing Jerusalem , returning unto Zion and dwelling in the midst of Jerusalem: which shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of Hosts , the holy mountain, with old men and old women dwelling in its streets , and every man with his staff in his hand for very age, with the streets of the city full of boys and girls playing, marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of His people and marvellous in the eyes of the LORD of Hosts; with the LORD of Hosts saving his people from the east country, and from the west country; bringing them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: with they as His people and He as their God in truth and in righteousness; with the seed prosperous; the vine giving her fruit, the ground giving her increase, and the heavens giving their dew; with the LORD causing the remnant of this people to possess all these things , with the house of Judah and Jerusalem a blessing instead of a curse among the heathen , with the LORD of hosts doing well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; with every man speaking truth to his neighbor;  executing the judgment of truth and peace in the gates ; with none imagining evil in his heart against his neighbor; and loving no false oath:  with the fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth,  being to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore loving the truth and peace; with people inhabiting many cities going to another city saying ; let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts; with many many people and strong nations coming to seek and pray before the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, with it coming to pass that ten men shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, out of all languages of the nations, we will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you. See Zec 8 : 1 – 8 , 10-23

Affliction is associated with seeing the end of the Lord; that He is very pitiful and of tender mercy , and that the people that endure it are to be counted as happy See Jas 5:10-11 ; and it is to be a humbling memory of the soul in order to have the hope of the Lord; with His never ceasing , greatly faithful , daily mercy and compassion in your mind , waiting upon and seeking Him as your portion and salvation See Lam 3:  19-26 .

Affliction is a associated with beseeching, humbling oneself greatly before, praying to, entreating and supplicating the LORD God  See  2 Chron 33 ; 12-13  .

Affliction is light and temporary , working a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory for us : the looking at the unseen things which are eternal See 2 Cor 4:17-18;  and it is to present us with the choice of whether to suffer and endure by faith with the people of God, forsaking the treasures of Egypt , keeping the Passover and the sprinkling of blood , esteeming the reproach of Christ of greater riches, respecting the recompense of the reward as seeing him who is invisible , or otherwise enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season and then be destroyed by him who destroyed the first born of Egypt.  See Heb 11:24 -28

Affliction is associated with enabling others to keep their religion before God and the Father pure , unspotted and undefiled from the world through their visitation of the fatherless and widows.  See James 1:27

Affliction is where the LORD is afflicted in His love and in his pity for His people that will not lie  , bestowing a great multitude of goodness , loving kindness and mercy upon them , being their Savior, with the angel of His presence saving them .  See Is 63: 7-9

Affliction is associated with being removed out the straight place into a broad place, where that which is set on your table is full of fatness , with days in prosperity and years in pleasures See Job 36 : 11, 15-16

Affliction is associated with fainting not, with the inward man being renewed day by day even though our outward man perish ; troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.  See 2 Cor 4:8, 9, 16, 17 .

Affliction is a time when the Lord is your strength , refuge and fortress See Jer 16 :19 ; and affliction is associated with being instructed and learning how to be content in whatever state that you are in , whether abounding and full or abased and suffering need , through Christ who strengthens you.  See Ph 4: 10-14

Affliction is associated with exampling endurance and patience in suffering to the brethren while speaking in the name of the Lord, like Job  See Jas 5:10 -11.

Affliction is associated with trusting in God and having your eyes ever toward the LORD See Ps 25: 2, 15-16 ;  and it is associated with facilitating your trust in God, your eyes ever toward the LORD , your prayer and petition of the Lord , your preservation of your  integrity and uprightness , and your waiting upon the Lord .  See Ps 25:2, 15-22

Affliction is associated with the giving of thanks to the LORD by those redeemed from the hand of the enemy by the Lord , because he is good and his mercy endures forever See Psalm 107:1, 10 ;  and it is associated with the Lord turning towards you, having mercy upon your desolation , plucking your feet out of the net of your enemy , bringing you out of your distress, looking upon your pain , forgiving your sins, considering your enemies, delivering and keeping your soul from shame , and redeeming you out of all your troubles.  See Ps 25:2 :15-22 .

Affliction is associated with God’s presence and deliverance See Acts 7 : 9,10;  and afflictions are many to the righteous  , but the LORD delivers the righteous out of them all . See Ps 34:17-19
